Engineers from Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) in collaboration with Boeing own the bragging rights in producing the largest solid 3D printed object ever made. The object printed was a trim tool and it was needed to hold a Boeing 777x’s wing skin while being machined and drilled. It only took 30 hours instead of 7 days to produce a large-scale trim tool and weighs 745 kg, is 5.3 meters long, 1.5 meters wide and 0.5 meters tall.
