Neuralink Turns Quadriplegics Into Telepaths

September 5, 2024

Why It’s Lit

Because controlling a computer with your mind is superhuman!

Believe It Or Not

Neuralink has made it possible for quadriplegics to “link up” with their computers for a telepathic experience.

No longer are they reliant on someone else to press call when they want to talk with a friend or order food, to name a few everyday tasks. Neuralink gives power back to quadriplegics to perform everyday tasks themselves, giving them much needed independence in everyday life.

Neuralink allows users to control their computers with nothing more than their minds, scanning and interpreting synaptic signals that appear as motions on a computer or device. In their training, Neuralink says, “Imagine trying to touch this dot on the screen” and it literally happens.

Neuralink is desperately looking for volunteer quadriplegics to participate in its clinical trials.

Unfortunately, this telepathic technology isn’t yet available to the public.

But!

Give it a few years, and we might see Neuralink says, “Okay, anyone who wants to feel like a superhero, step right up!”

Then, we may see a world where Neuralink is used for more than just brain-to-computer connections.

Imagine walking up to a coffee shop and placing your order with nothing more than your mind?

Drop This Fact

BCIs (Brain-to-computer interfaces), which is what Neuralink uses, can be taken a step further. There exist BBIs (Brain-to-brain interfaces) that began being implanted in the 2010s. That means actual telepathy, hearing someone’s thoughts and responding with your mind, may be closer than we think.
